[Watch Face] Tiny Doctors v2.0 - the ultimate Dr. Who watchface

$

0
Hi fellow Whovians!

image

We've finally finished pimping up our Tiny Doctors watchface, so get it now or update it if you have got it already - here's what's included:
  • a cute miniature version of your favorite Dr. Who timelord (corresponding to the actual time of course)
  • the number of the current Doctor's written on the TARDIS
  • date (MONTH DD) is also displayed as a shadow below the TARDIS
  • Pebble's battery status is represented by the waves of the sonic screwdriver
  • it's AM if the TARDIS' windows are lit - if they're dark it's PM

image

That's the basics, so what else?
  • when The Doctor's time is over he will regenerate to the next Doctor (animated)
  • the War Doctor appears between 8:30 and 9:00
  • the TARDIS will be on fire if you loose BT connection and a mysterious crack appears on it, tearing apart the universe (...and the BT symbol)
  • every once in a while there'll be something appearing in the background - friend or foe? Always hard to tell with those creepy aliens...
    Those (24 different!) appearances include:
  • Silurian, Timelord, Slitheen, The Watcher, Silent, K-9 [because everybody needs a friend!], Dalek, Cyberman, Zygon, Ice Warrior (Martian), Kamelion [the Doctor's friends have somewhat of a metallic tendency], Melkur, Omega, Sontaran, uncloaked TARDIS [TT Capsule Type 40], Ood, Quark, Robot [a big fella], Beast (Satan) [an even bigger fella], Sil, Snowman, Adipose, Yeti, Weeping Angel
But remember, it's all totally random (including the timespan), so there is a possibility that there's going to be nothing at all for a while, or one monster after another!
Maybe they appear and disappear while you're not looking?! You better keep an eye on your Pebble, just in case...

The guys who made this watchface possible in the way it is now:

Jonathan Abucejo - extremely talented pixel artist, initiator [and dream weaver]
James D. - 'beta tester' and awesome idea provider
derfreimann - coding... and also responsible for one or two ideas
and of course drwrose - the inventor of the 12 Doctors watchface, who obviously was a big inspiration and a Dr.Who watchface pioneer

We hope you have fun with it! ;)

[the code's entirely based on Pebble's open source 91_dub code]

[Watch App] MiniDungeon

$

0
MiniDungeon:

Explore a dungeon as you go about your day. Exploring is randomized and time based, so you only act when an event is triggered. Encounter random monsters and chests. Survive, and you can advance deeper into the dungeon.

Controls:
Use the up, down, and select buttons to activate the menu options on the right of the screen. The back button will exit sub-menus, and exit the app when you are at the main adventure screen. If you are in battle and need to exit in a hurry, holding the back button will force exit the game.

Features:

* Support for Pebble, Pebble Time, and Pebble Time Round.
* Automatically saves progress on exiting, including the state of combat in the case of a force exit.
* Optional vibration when an event happens.
* Optional fast mode to speed up events. It does not change the relative frequency of event types, but makes the game faster if you have some dedicated play time.
* Optional background app to explore while you use other apps and watchfaces. The background app can interrupt you when an event happens or save it for the next time you want to play.

Full code is available on GitHub.
Additional Contributors:
* BlackLamb
* Belphemur

MiniDungeon is available on the Pebble appstore
Version 3.1:
Update for firmware 3.8.

Version 3.0:
Adds:
* Support for Pebble, Pebble Time, and Pebble Time Round, including new art for both Monochrome and Color.
* Optional background app to explore while you use other apps and watchfaces. The background app can interrupt you when an event happens or save it for the next time you want to play.
* Menus now wrap top to bottom.
* Battery percent listed in pause menu.

Bug fixes:
* Fixed crash if notifications were left up on top of MiniDungeon.
* Stat points available to spend were not persisted.
* The final boss gave a negative gold reward.

Version 2.0:
Upgraded to SDK 2.0. (With help from Belphemur and BlackLamb)
In the App Store.
Implemented persistent data so that you can resume a game in progress after closing the app.
MiniDungeon now always overrides the back button. The biggest effect of this is that you cannot use a simple back button press to run away from combat. If you are in combat and need to close the app, simply press and hold the back button. The next time you enter the app, the combat will resume where it left off.

Version 1.2:
Fix bug where a shop will take your money even if you do not have room for more items.
Increased limit per item time to 99.

Version 1.1:
New Features:
Added random shop to buy stat points and consumable items
Adding Progress menu to the battle menu
Added fast mode to the options menu. This will make an event happen every minute instead of randomly

Other changes:
    Reduced difficulty level
    Graphical and menu adjustements
    Bug fixes

[Watchapp] Radar - track other Pebbles

$

I recently developed a Pebble Radar app that tracks you and other Pebble watches.  It uses the smart phone GPS to plot your location against a radar grid, and plots the closest dozen other Pebble watches that are running this app.

You can zoom in and out using the up and down buttons, which also briefly displays the grid distance.  The top corners show the zoom level and number of visible symbols (which represent other Pebble users).  The middle button leads to a configuration screen for choosing your symbol, GPS accuracy, date format, screen inversion, and other custom settings.  Shaking the watch will trigger another GPS request and update of the other screen blips.

It will be a few weeks before the JavaScript code is available in the iOS Pebble App Store.  Would anyone be willing to test this app either on Android or by sideloading the .pbw file on iOS?

I would love to hear feedback from any clustered group of Pebble owners who simultaneously use this app.  Seems like a good way to keep track of your family or friends at a crowd event.

http://setpebble.com/app/radar

I also think this app may lead to some other location-based Pebble utilities and games.  If anyone has any ideas, please share them.  I would love to combine this concept with my Maptastic app for real-time tracking against a map background, but alas the 24KB app limit will probably nix this idea.

Thanks in advance to any testers!  Regards, Matt

Hi!

Drink Counter was the first app I wrote when I got my OG Pebble more that 2 years ago. Now 4 Pebbles later, I finally updated it to be compatible with all Pebbles.

Drink Counter allows you to keep track of your alcohol, water and cigarette consumption. It even estimates the blood alcohol level based on your gender, weight and number of drinks. Remember: Never drive under the influence of alcohol!

A long press on the middle button allows to set a price for the drink.
A long press on the bottom button allows to move individual items.

[Watchface] PikaTime - Animated Pikachu

$

Hi all,

I got my first Pebble (the Time) about a month ago and thought I'd try my hand at making a watchface...

I've put this together staring Pikachu!

Features:
  • An animated Pikachu with dash attack!
  • A Pokeball is visible on screen when connected to your phone.
  • The HP meter displays remaining battery.
  • Current day and date displayed.
  • Weather retrieved from OpenWeatherMap.

Configuration Options:
  • Animation frequency.
  • Shake to animate.
  • Vibrate on Bluetooth disconnect.
  • Weather in Celsius or Fahrenheit.
  • Date format in ddmm or mmdd.
Download Here!

It's animation heavy and might suck your battery a bit if you have the frequency too high. I've been using 10 minutes with shake to animate and get a few days out of it.

I hope you like it. I'm pretty rusty with C so please give me a yell if anyone finds any issues?

Cheers
Halfrabbit

I always loved the concept of "virtual" people living in things like Tamagotchi's or Little Computer People.

I thought it might be cool to have something similar that you could watch or glance at through the day to see what the person was up to, that's PEBILL.

I hope you all give him a shot and like and enjoy PEBILL.

[Watch app][SDK2] Pebble Cards | Customizable Watch Screen for Pebble

$
0

Hi everyone!

I’m working on a watch app called that acts as a watchface on half of the screen, and the other half displays user-customizable “cards” that can be cycled through using the up/down buttons.

Right now I’ve implemented a variety of cards, such as Weather (from phone location), Stocks, RSS headline, World Clock, Note, and Google Calendar (next appointment from all the calendars of the signed in user). These cards are configurable through a webview in the official Pebble app.

The app is built using PebbleKit JS, so it should run on both iOS and Android. I’ve only tested it on iOS so far, so my apologies if anything breaks on Android. Also, the settings interface is heavily-inspired by iOS 7’s look and feel, so again, apologies to the Android Pebble users out there for the mismatched themes :)

I personally have this app running on my Pebble at all times now, and I would love to be able to make it better for everyone. So, please give it a try, and let me know what you want to see. If you have suggestions of a (free) web API I can use to make more types of cards, I would be glad to make them happen. Thanks!

[Watchapp][open source] Alarms++ (updated for Pebble Time and Round)

$

Today I was bored and I wanted to learn something about the new Wakeup API. Moreover I was fed up with being waken on a weekend by my alarm which was intended for work days. So I decided to write a replacement for the builtin Alarms app.

After 5 many hours of coding I came up with:
- 8 alarms with snooze (12/24h mode depending on watch setting)
- individual weekdays on which the alarm is active
- add description (9 chars) to each alarm, shown when the alarm goes off
- possiblity to activate/deactivate individual alarms
- autostop the vibration after 3 minutes to preserve the battery
- optional long-press to dismiss alarm
- possibility to hide unused alarms
- one-time alarms (just set an alarm without a weekday).
- optional increasing vibration pattern
- flip to snooze
- localization support of FW 2.8 (English, Spanish and German ATM, searching for Translators)

You can find it at Alarms++ on Pebble App Store . The current version is v2.2.
The source code is on Github!

I'm looking forward to your comments!
