I thought I'd do a little post here (my first!) about a watch app that I'm working on at the moment.
I wanted to learn the Pebble 2.0 SDK, so I spent some time trying to come up with an app that I would find personally useful. As I'm currently just starting to learn German I initially thought about some sort of pure dictionary/translation app, but ultimately put the kibosh on this for 2 reasons:
- Inputting words into a Pebble in a chore and just isn't in line with how the device is designed from an interface point of view
- I want the Pebble to present information to me, rather than me interrogating it for information.
This led to the idea of an app that will present random words in the language you are learning, with their meaning, forms and example usage. Throughout the day you can glance down and hopefully learn a little in a passive way. To me, this seems a perfect complement (not a replacement :D) to active study.
