I recently created a graphics demo based on a starfield, with randomly generated 'stars' that animates at a smooth 30 frames per second.
Based on this I also created two watch faces, Starfield Smooth and Starfield Power Saver, the latter of which only animates once a second to save battery power.

They're available on mypebblefaces and through my Selector Android app that includes a whole bunch of other watch apps and faces, and (when Google Play publishes the update) source code for a large number of my apps and faces.
