I've released an app that allows you to browse, read and delete emails in K9 mail, I built it because it's something I felt I would want, and now there are a few people using it.
Now I'm wondering about doing the same thing for gmail.
This is a bit more complicated, The advantage with K9 is that I can get all the emails from the K9 app on the phone. That doesn't seem to be possible for gmail (not without rooting the phone anyway).
So I've been looking at connecting the gmail directly and reading the mails myself, this does seem to work, I can connect and read the emails in a little test app I've written.
However going as far as building an app that deals with all the details... is a fair amount of work. If the existing K9 app is enough for everyone I'll not bother.
But if there are enough people who just use gmail and are desperate to read/delete email on their watch then I'll give it a go.
Oh, and I'll probably need some beta testers who will risk all their emails being deleted (unlikely... but who knows...)
