Help: Newbie to the world of Pebble and want some help

Hello everyone,

New to the world of Pebble - it arrived a few days ago and I have successfully got it to pair to my iPhone 5 running iOS6 and can get SMS, email notificiations, caller ID (like that you can answer or reject calls from the watch) and use the basic music controls to control whatever was/is playing on the iPhone.

Using the pebble app on the phone I have installed a few watch faces, which are cool.  But I am interested in the world of apps.

First of all, I have had a bit of look at the forums and seen some cool apps, but is there a thread with a list of top recommendations?
Things that I would be interested in:

A weather app
An app that gives better music control (PeaPod looks good?)
An app that gives Facebook / Twitter nitifications
An app that allowed you to track sports scores live on your wrist e.g. football, cricket etc

Also - how do you install an app? There is an app called PeaPod that looks great but the thread talks about "source code on GitHub" and a compiled Watch app with a link to watchface website.  An idiots guide would be good.
